The “Crystal Wall of Crying” is a symbolic memorial object created by conceptual artist Marina Abramoviс on the grounds of the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center.

The wall is made of anthracite and transparent quartz crystals. It alludes to and continues the Western Wall of the Jerusalem Temple – the Wailing Wall. The crystals are positioned at human height, allowing each visitor to touch them and feel a connection between personal memories and the collective memory of the Holocaust and the tragedy of Babyn Yar.
